Can you believe it, the Banjo Snob has been in existence for five years this month! It seems like just yesterday that I started boring you to tears with my broken-record banjo opinions! To celebrate this milestone, I have decided to try something that will make it easier to find your favorite “Classic Banjo Snob” blogs (that’s right up there with “classic” Britney Spears, I tell you; I actually heard that term on the radio once). I’ve been looking to simplify the process because I have trouble finding them for my own research and nostalgia.
Reading through these as I post them is a fascinating process for me; I can see how my thoughts and ideas have evolved over the years. As a “historical document” of my own progress, they are an irreplaceable measuring stick. I also notice that I used to get a lot more comments to my blogs; I’m not sure what happened, but I suppose I have “worn out my welcome” with a few folks, and pissed off a few others. On some issues, I have also become a broken record.
I also recognize that some of my return comments didn’t exactly invite continued discussion; I’ve never been very good at casual conversation. But; in most cases, I can tell the next blog was inspired/informed by the comments of the previous. See, I really do listen and learn! I’m sure—now that I’ve taken the time for this trip down memory lane—that my next blogs will be affected by it. Please forgive me as I continue to figure out how to say what needs to be said (a never-ending process, I’m sure); I invite you to rejoin the conversation.
Anyway, this blog will introduce the new idea; all I’ve done is to paste links onto this document for easier finding; the title of the blog is in the link (right-click and “open in new tab” for the easiest perusal). I’ll do one for each year of blogs, then if it works, continue to post links as I add blogs. Don’t worry, I’m far from running out of things to say (lucky you)! Thanks, Ron! I’m glad you’re still sharing and working to help us improve our banjo playing! I need the pep talks to keep trying and keep practicing! The Covid quashing of all our banjo gatherings has really hindered my motivation to practice….
